It is short for Amalgamated Carburettors.

Drums do look better.
I went for a later one with the wrong gear change as I'd only just passed my test & thought swapping feet would be more complicated than it is.

I still blame foot-swapping buggery for the accident I had on my Triumph - I also had a YDS7 and Suzuki Invader at the time.

In fairness, I should have been able to swap with ease....I don't have any trouble with cars being differently laid out, although I can't see me taking to a Model T or centre throttles too easily now.

When I eventually rode a proper side gearbox it was much easier to adjust than I expected. It was a 1947 Velocette KSS, bloody fantastic bike.

The proper location for the gear lever on a proper thinking gentleman's motor velocipede is on the side of the tank.
Also any fule knowe that the clutch should be on the left foot.

Painted, swing arm done too but you can't see it here. Brush painted smooth rite over old powdercoat so it's not perfect but it's good enough for a bike I plan to use not just look at.
