How about a commercial that's not a hearse, got to be people using to their funds to build a classic camper or similar.

There are a couple of Caddy hearses just come on ebay in budget but I can't quite talk myself into spending that much on a hearse. The 127 is very nice but at 4.8k euro I think it might struggle to sell on again the same with the Seat which is 5.5k euro. The Healey would be the sensible buy at 5k. Flog the plate and it should make a few quid when I get bored. The Deek estate is from the same guy I bought the red/silver one from so might get a deal on it. A commercial probably would be a sensible buy but there is nowt floating my boat really

Purely financial purchase, BiL bought a master the same as mine, 2012 @£3k though. Had a quote of £10k to do a very nice camper conversion on it. It’ll turn £18-25k in the current market.

If I was a greedy man I’d be commissioning 5 of those for next spring. Advertise after February and you’d bank £50k. Campers have gone crazy recently.

Less annoying tag line.

That’s a shame, still it’ll be fun if you can convert it to coal gas.

Well after struggling to find anything interesting and the 2 I did maybe want (the Jensen Healy and a Corvair that popped up) both sold straight away. I was left with little choice. The Fiat seller in France didn't reply and the Seat as lovely as it is was just too expensive. I have now hopefully got a deal on the DKW estate, he is sending it over to me and if I want it I can have it for 2.5k If I don't want to buy it he wants me to recommision it for him at some point which he will pay for. Sounds a pretty good deal really I just hope it isn't as crusty underneath as some of the pictures he sent me make it appear.

I have had one before and it was awful so only drove it 2 miles then sold it on. That one had a Renault 12ts engine in it so actually went ok but the rest of it was crap including the 3 speed gearbox. I have got the Peugeot 201 if I want to drive an antique, the DKW'S are actually fairly decent to drive in modern traffic where this older prewar stuff really isn't

Aye. Didn't know you'd already been there. Much of it is only one step up from a horse and cart. The SEAT has a lovely interior.
