With todays tech it should be impossible to nick a car ffs.
I remember the keypad on my saxo. I couldn't start the fucker myself at times. It used to work itself at times.
Can't remember my vts having a keypad although that means fuck all.

Anything is stealable if somebody wants it enough, no matter the security put into it.

Jlr are just saving them the bother of breaking and entering.

Even if the ECU security was watertight and not yet compromised, you can always swap in a immo off ECU and drive off that way.

Failing that, pull it into an enclosed and soundproof car transporter to take away elsewhere that is easier to swap all the ECUs needed (e.g. from a cheap write off). Or chop shop it to just strip for parts for resale anyway.

I think if you unplugged those keypads, it bypassed it. I recall they were a piece of piss to nick back in the day anyway as they all went missing.

Anyone from the N.E. will probably remember the legend of the Cossie owned by an alarm ceo who stated it was theft proof due to 3alarms.....
It disappeared - dumped back on his lawn a few days later with all the alarms removed - a note stating if they want it, they'll have it.
I remember the newspaper report - but details may be off slightly....

Input number,start car and unplug keypad. Keypad no longer required. Did that on both my xantias and the zx. Saxos had it on pre facelift,later ones didn't. My 52 plate furio and X plate diesel didn't have it but a P reg did.

All the car dealers I knew (back when God was a lad) never used to lock their cars, they all reckoned that if the cunts wanted it, they'd have it away and broken glass was a pain in the arse to deal with. I of course always go against the grain and lock everything.

Didn't work when the scrotes wanted the posh stereo out of my Renault 25 (the fancy thing that took up the entire centre console) I had a load of broken glass, no stereo (or cassettes for that matter) and my clothes that I'd left in the back dumped in someone's hedge.

Broken glass gets everywhere!
