It makes sense to me as as far as I know Michael May was only interested in boosting the economy.

I've done lots of miles in a Series 3 V12 E-Type manual.

No, it wasn't mine. But the V12 power and really something else. It's not neck-snapping, but rather the feeling of effortless surge which builds into something else.

Re: Building the Leg End. The Old Jag thread.
Here's mine.
First one is a 1970 Daimler Sovereign 2.8 manual BTG 708J with overdrive. Bought it in 1989 I think-here it is with my late father in that year being used as a wedding car for a friend.
The second one is my brothers XJS V12HE B20 XJS. He bought this in 97 I think. Cracking car-this is me pictured in about 1998 in Leicester. Another pic of it is in my garage on the day before my wedding in 1999. I had this Interceptor at the same time. Another one I should have kept!

Re: Building the Leg End. The Old Jag thread.
I've just looked to see what a factory tour of Jaguar costs these days. The last time I did it in about 2011, it was free. Now it's £49. I think we'll shortly see the end of petrol saloon cars and sports card being manufactured there, hence the interest.
