I seem to of done something stupid yet again

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

The discs on my P4 110 were throw you through the windscreen strong once I sorted the servo and it's leak. A P5 probably shouldn't be that different? Presumably its discs on the front?

At least the bushing kit isn't ludicrously expensive if the ponderous steering is anything to do with that.

I suspect it is air in the system as it has had a replacement servo fitted on the n/s inner wing and the pipework was awful and most likely had a bit of air in the highest point. It feels a bit soggy and there is no real bite which could just be sticking pads or rusty discs through standing. The throttle linkage has loads of play in it so that won't be helpping the performance. I expect I will keep on at it and spend a fortune as usual.

Worth seeing if you can get a drive of a known decent one to decide if it's worth putting money into yours

I'm sure he could just go down to his local Rover dealer and ask for a test drive on a 3litre 🤔

I was thinking more along the lines of asking in the owners club but whilst you have the time machine out can you nip back and place a couple of bets for me?

I think it will be ok. I will just try not to spend too much on it. I expect the tyres aren't helping as they are 4x4 tyres. It also has loads of grease nipples on the steering so maybe a proper grease up and check over will improve it.

I've only driven a few P5s (and never, yet, a P5B) but in each instance the brakes varied between poor and dangerous. My mate's 3 Litre Coupe was the best after much expenditure in this area but even that didn't prevent servo leakage within a few thousand miles. I think it probably is down to age in service and maintenance - endemic in cheap old big cars that rarely repay necessary expenditure with enhanced sale value.

On the P4 group, they all say Van tyres ruin the steering feel. I've never driven a car with them but could understand so.

These are the tyres I put on the P4. This seller I got them from often had ebay discount codes on them but they currently appear out of stock
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204153371402

I think the P5 is the same 185/80/15.

There is someone running an american v8 in their P4 along santa pod with these hiflys and find them more than adequate.
