Having driven back from Angouleme the week, I can confirm France is dead. Theres literally nothing happening anywhere. My old gaffa is in Italy at the min. Apparently its the same there.

Peugeot Diesel engines came a little later than these, certainly in the car range. The D is just a type designation and I assume the 201 was the first use of the Peugeot three-digits-with-a-zero model number. Pretty good innings for a numbering system, I suppose.

Yes the D is model designaion it has a little 1.3 petrol engine. They only built the D for a couple of years but still built over 13000 of them. I would love to know the history of the car as the rear hatchback is a modification probably done during the war. It is still on it's original plates so hasn't been far in it's life but has spent a long time off the road. Fingers crossed it will be picked up this afternoon or tomorrow morning if all goes to plan.
