Ships are often held out at anchor for congestion reasons. It is more prevalent on the shorter legs (such as trans-atlantic) wheareas coming up from the Far East to Europe gives far greater leeway to make up / lose time.

Generally speaking, they will have to leave the port as scheduled regardless of the situation at next port. Bear in mind that that will be days or weeks, not hours, away so there is not the same concern as in air travel. A ship can also of course "tread water" or anchor rather than needing to land.

I think you got a bargain as I would of bought it back if I had room for it. It might need front strut top mounts but they will probably make it through a test. They get a bit of a knock some times. I never noticed any rust on it so really don't think it will be much. It has has the IMS bearing and the full clutch etc. I took it all round France and it never missed a beat. If you do change the top mounts it's best to get the wheel alignment done again as it makes a massive difference to how they drive if it is just slightly out. Good luck with it.

I really do have something of a car buying problem and it is getting worse. At least I sold the van so that dropped the numbers down a bit but the Movano has taken me back up to 6 here and one on the way. Why the fuck was I on ebay.com last night trying to get a deal on this little beauty. It really is daft and I don't know why I do it really.

Seems a reasonable thing to be doing.....Besides, by the time it gets here you might have more (or even less) space.

When I imported the Bellel, it took nearly a year! Didn’t help that the container ship caught fire off Brittany, was abandoned (for 6 weeks!) finally towed into Brest when no one else would take it- in case it sank!

I kinda like that, although it’s gotta have a limited market! Brill though mate, well done

It looks fantastic. It would make a great weekend camper.

At least the roof will be padded inside. Quite handy when you try and get up before you remember you've slept in a vehicle you can't stand up in.

It would double up as a 'private' ambulance for when the old fuckers peg out on the caravan club sites.
Win win imo.

A friend was once telling me he had to do quite a few long distance recoveries a year when people pass on holiday.
