No leaks found, the guy at the Rover garage had everything apart and all was dry. 99% sure it was cat piss, there are loads of the blighters around my bit and I've seen them doing it on other cars.

Eh? I was talking about your Laser oil suction pump! Have you been sucking up cat piss with it?

If it can't hold a vacuum, it's probably something simple. There's not many places where they will leak.

The cap that fits on top which the pump then attaches to is swollen or misshapen and doesn't fit properly over the o ring seal on the tank neck. The pump also won't sit tight or straight on it either.

I was out in the garage this afternoon making a thoroughly average job of a diecast car restoration and I thought I might as well attend to the rusty rear wiper hole on the Corsa.

It's being slowly developing for years and the wiper itself had seized a long long time ago. As it's thin metal and a small area, I planned to cut back whatever rot there was, fibreglass from behind, P38 on the top and respray the lower half of the bootlid. If I left this until I got some welding apparatus in the new year, I bet I'd just make a warped holey mess, figuring that welding thin metal is something for the more experienced.

Here is what it was like. Giffer trinket wiper arm rubber sleeve caused this I reckon as it's the worst I've seen.
Inner trim panel off with 2 torx and some poppers.
Wiper arm off with a puller
Obviously very seized
Not as rotten as I thought Cut out the rot and also ground down some other spots
Cleaned up the rust on the inside and applied some fibreglass matting.
Next is some Isopon on top, a skim of filler, remove trim, locks and badges, then rub down ready for primer.

More work on the Corsa boot today.

The P40 has sanded down quite well so I'm going to see if the primer has a high enough build to take a sanding rather than making it more proud with a coat of filler.

Wouldn't let me attach more than one image, my phone upgraded it's software and it's gone all shit.

Good work on the Corsa, but what about the die-cast?!
