Now your making me feel really bad. Here’s me with a mostly heated garage and a car lift of sorts...

Re: WReX Wagon
Decided with all the Covid shenanigans to spend Christmas self isolating in a cabin up by Lake Superior.
Mrs B didn’t want to be at home over Christmas as it would be the first without her Mom around.
Interesting 5 hrs trip that turned into over 8...
First was the ice storm (30f) Then the snow started (12f) Then the all out blizzard (8f) Pitch black when we finally arrived and cars in ditches all over the place. We stopped in at a long tunnel at one point to de-ice the wipers. We were so far into the trip, it was closer to get there than to turn around and come back. Fortunately we made it in one piece. No where really to stop and couldn’t camp in the car as it was just so cold outside, so had to keep moving. It was 3’ deep in some places where the snow had drifted.
This morning we woke up to this: The sun finally visible over Lake Superior.
Just about worth it. The cabin is just two rooms, which will be cozy over Christmas with the nipper and two dogs, but with a couple of books, some cake and tea, pretty much perfect. Hopefully the trip home will be a little easier!

Looks a stunning place to escape the nastiness. My Uncle had a place in Napanee, Ontario just like that - some of my best memories come from there.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Re: WReX Wagon
Thanks everyone.
Today it’s 3f (around -16c) as a high, but creeping up to a high of 18f tomorrow.
Part of the fun is the road trip. I’ve spent the morning getting up slowly and reading my Christmas present from my parents - Richard Oman's the Thursday Murder Club. It wasn’t wrapped so I’m sticking to the allowed early reading thing...
Trying to get up the courage to venture out for a walk after lunch.
Glad I’m not like the dogs having to pee outside though!

I'm half way through it. I can't help reading it in his voice though.
He was on the radio the other day, the sequel is finished.

Re: WReX Wagon
Back home again now. Landed the day before yesterday, just as it was getting dark.
Trip back was a bit of an eye opener.
Seeing some of the cliff edges that we navigated in the snow storm gave me the shivers! Only half way through the Thursday Murder Club, but it’s starting to get more interesting!
Also nostalgia sucks.
For Christmas the dear lady treated me to a used Sega Saturn games machine (circa 1996) with Sega rally. I remember playing it as a kid, thinking that it couldn’t get much better.
That was on an 18” portable tv. Now on a ‘big enough to make Tom Cruise look actual size’ TV, it’s a blurry glitchy mess made up of triangles. I’m thinking the young‘uns X box one is something stolen from an extraterrestrial!
