building an Exocet kit car - lockdown 1 project creeps into lockdown 2

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Great stuff.
Put the plates from your mx-5 on it and take it for a proper blast...
Other than getting banned for life, what's the worst that can happen?

From those vids it looks like this thing is gonna be very low on grip untill some downforce builds up, bet it's going to be great fun.

Does it have any spoilers at all ?

the back end is very twitchy - some of that will be the baldy semi slicks, stone cold, wrong pressure and damp tarmac plus the wheel alignment is all to hell, there is a lot of camber on the rear.

but mostly it's down to my crap driving (brand new clutch) and the back end having no weight in it at all ! I have a spoiler which was bought for cosmetic reasons but hopefully will have some real benefit once I get moving.

even from those cheeky little runs up and down the street, I can see it is going to be a hilarious thing to drive, it picks up very quickly even with the stock 1.6 engine, I can't wait to have a proper go :)

Re the track day. I'll go halfas on the trailer. Got the perfect tow vehicle too. Providing the gearbox doesn't shit itself in the meantime.

cheers, I'll look into it but if the weather is anything like today, it might not be the cleverest idea that I've had recently :)

Just stick some slicks on for track day at least if its wet you won't get enough speed up to spin off.
