a long, long time ago, @paulplom gave me a USB socket for the exo which I was pleased to finally fit today, the 12v is for the tyre pump

I even trimmed the cut outs

the afm was flapping about in the breeze so a bracket was needed

but the filter is a big fatty and needs to move away from the manifold

I can't see the 12v being useful in one of those for a fag lighter, it'd smoke it for you! Is this this thing getting a proper windscreen or is it a helmet job? A better job on the loom than in my old kit and that's only an old Cortina one, it's like a fucking rats nest behind the dash.

the 12v is just for the tyre inflator - which will be handy on track days etc, but as I won't be carrying a spare tyre, it might be a good idea having one if I get a puncture.
the kit includes a pair of 'fly screens' but I expect to be wearing a helmet anyway - road debris hitting you in the face at 70mph probably hurts a lot

it is advised to leave fitting the screens until after the Iva test as they start asking all sorts of awkward questions about safety glass and washers / wipers etc

Pfft @ hit in the face, you'll get sod all in that compared to a bike. I'd be tempted by earplugs though due to the wind noise, they say on a bike at 60 or 70mph (I forget which) after about 30mins it exceeds the safely levels. I know I used to get annoying tinnitus before I started wearing them.

The more I look at that, the more I think I'd prefer a MX5.

I live in a rural area and it's a Pheasant or Pigeon in the face that's always at the back of my mind when I see cars on the road with no screens. I've hit all sorts of wildlife over the years in all sorts of cars and some of it has properly bounced of the windscreen.
A 7esque kit with a screen isn't comfortable at speed when the doors are off, that'll be worse, well done that man!

can't be any worse than a motorbike, surely ? but the thought of a pheasant in the face is a very good reason to wear a helmet - I hadn't thought of big stuff like that
