I reckon these are the best looking of all Transits, much improved from the original ugly snout-nosed and even flat-front incarnation.

Not keen on these.

Prefer the earlier Mk2 rather than all the thick plastic stuff on these facelifts.

A guy near me has demodernised his phase 2 and put a tin front back on it.

My bias stems from the family transport being a 1979 12-seater minibus - FLO 440T.

It was quick* work unbolting seats for tip/load lugging duty. Generally the last row was left out and Renault hadn't even thought of putting a bit of carpet and seats in a van.

Plastic hides rusty white painted steel. Presumably this was an important consideration for the Dagenham boys.

It is currently a most important consideration as the front valance behind the splitter is a little rusty....

Lovely.....I can understand why Ford developed the Transit beyond the Mk2. But there was never any need to make them look any different....

Rusty drip marks emerging from behind black plastic can only be beaten by trim hanging in mid air halfway across rust holes in the aesthetics department.

IMO newer Transits have been getting progressively uglier since the Mk 2, right up to the latest kazoo-faced monstrosity.

Yeah, if the new Transit was a kid at school it would have been bog-washed for looking like that. Horrible fucking things.
