Re: Ford focus mk1
Your mechanic wants to get down the factors and kick up a right stink about these crap parts. Failing once is bad enough but 3 times the parts are shit and they should be replacing them with something useable. If they are not prepared to do that take his trade elsewhere. He should also be asking them to cover his labour costs each time as doing the job once you can just about wear, but 3 times he should be paid for his time. The words "fit for purpose" are good to use here as they shouldn't be selling substandard parts.

Re: Ford focus mk1
I've been telling him to get it sorted. I've only paid for 1 set,the other 2 were replacements. All by same manufacturer though. If it had wrote the car off then we'd have been on the hook for the car being unroadworthy. If it had hurt my wife then I'd have really lost my cool.

Re: Ford focus mk1
Situation update.
My mechanic has gone to the manufacturer who stated it's the suppliers fault and they can't do anything unless it's sent from supplier so off he goes to autospares. Had a little argument with the staff and manager who said basically it's an old car and something else must be wrong. My mechanic then shown them the MOT history with no fails as well as no advisory on corrosion anywhere and the low mileage as well as receipts for new rear cross blades, drop links, front to rear arms, bolts, camber bolts and springs they've accepted them back with a free upgrade to a different brand. So he's coming to fit a set of KYB rear shocks in the morning.

Excellent news, shame everyone has to fight so hard for parts that actually work.

I know, disgusting isn't it.the supplier said he's sold 28 of that brand from that shop in a year and finds it hard to believe we've had 3 faulty ones. Like my mate said though, how many were sold for MK1 focus estate?
