Hope you've both stuck in a personal injury claim. Would also like to see them find another escort van for that money with or without a marker!

Between 800 and a grand for its age and condition without markers I'd guess. Its had a fair bit of welding on sills and rear slam panel was twisted before accident. Had rust on sills, battery tray and rear arches. Water leak in to passenger footwell too. Was also getting ready for bottom arms.

Some pennies spent on the bingo today. Failed temp sensor so I thought I'd rather do a good job than a half arsed one. Replaced stat, sender and a full coolant flush and refill with fresh coolant. I forgot how much of a pig french cars can be to bleed. Doesnt help that the berlingo only has one bleed nipple on the heater matrix pipe. earlier cars had them on rad and stat housing as well as radiator. Oh well it's done now and the gauge is reading fine.

It was minus 3 at 815 this morning. Escort needed jump leads off the bingo and a booster pack to even think of firing. Loading it on truck was a nightmare. wheelspinning all way up backwards.

Today was an interesting day. My mechanic came round to assess the brakes as they sound a bit grindy on the back. Shoes were found to be good but rather glazed and degrading, passenger side rear wheel cylinder was looking relatively new though. Driver side was a bit worse. Cylinder was weeping from seals and had looked like the shoes might be contaminated. new rear shoes fitted and a driver side wheel cylinder. front brakes were an advisory on last mot so they were inspected and found to be recently replaced. The slight knocking noise is the passenger side drop link which is on list for replaced as we found a more pressing issue.

That does look near the bone. How much is your mate charging to change it?

50 quid. Cambelt kit cost nigh on 80 too. I have favourable rates with him as even though hes a self employed mobile mechanic we are good friends too.
