From a short term business perspective it makes sense. You need to take into account residuals for a few years so that it remains valuable enough so that lease rates don't get hammered. After that they're not bothered about the later users in my opinion.AutoshiteBoy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 10:39 pm The problem is, speaking as a warranty engineer, the wiring looms and the like are sub contracted to the lowest cost producing nation. The components, material and build are generally shit so when there is a problem, the car is approaching scrap value.
I always wanted a 107e which I believe only came about because the Anglican was 2 door only. My 100e was spoiled by that gruesome engine and 3 speed box- the gap between 2nd and 3rd was like the grand canyon. Otherwise a fine car.mercrocker wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 12:02 am Do you know what......I think I would actually be better off with a 100E....No, make that a 107E. Fucking weirdo side-valves, worse than canbus.
Yamaha iirc?Bangernomics wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 6:20 am Is the v8 in them a ford job or bought in?
Less annoying tag line.
Think the 107E was just a stop-gap until the Consul Classic was ready (not that those had a great innings either) and ran alongside the 100E "New" Popular which in itself only existed as a "lowest priced car" loss-leader. A surprising number still about, probably because the engine and transmission lasted more than 40,000 miles.......cros wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 10:24 amI always wanted a 107e which I believe only came about because the Anglican was 2 door only.
