It's not a project, it's a place to live when Mrs SiC finds out you've got yet another old heap.

She'd be 'reet. They're one of the few vehicles she would approve of. Probably until she went for a ride in it...

Re: The Crappy Hamper Thread
That's not a proper Bay window, it's a Brazilian one.
Look how many side windows it has.
It's basically a combination of a Split and a Bay.
I'd look on the C&C, Heritage etc. web sites to see about panel availability. You might also want to check about the mechanicals, my 68 Bay was built in the first six months of production and has some unique rear brake parts for example. I suspect the same could be true for a Brazilian as opposed to a German production bus.

Re: The Crappy Hamper Thread
Just another few points;
I'd check how long that it's been in the country as Brazilian buses were noted to have little if any rust protection.
I believe that it should have a Solex with an autochoke which makes me wonder what the failure to start in cold weather is about. Mine will start with some throttle but runs like a pig if I forget to set the choke.
There's someone on AS, barefoot?, who is on the staff of a VW bus magazine. He'll know far more than me.

There’s no such thing as a proper bay window. They’re mobile gas chambers that combine the basic rubbishness of the splitty with none of the style. A 53 plate Vivaro with a mattress and a bucket is infinitely superior.

They're only mobile gas chambers if the heat exchangers leak.The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 10:31 am There’s no such thing as a proper bay window. You stick to your Vivaro, I'll stick to my Bay.

I honestly don’t understand the Dub hate. I love seeing anything old on the road being used as intended irrespective of badge.
I can appreciate anyone who devotes time and effort on an old motor.

I definitely didn't spend a night in Devon in my camper on Friday.
And I definitely didn't see loads of other campers on the way down there either. Or any police.
