Has it got trunions? Those were always the cause of that sort of wear when I had my Midget.

I didn't notice any unusual wear on the former tyres and I did a few thousand miles on them. It's got king pins, coil springs and wishbones. I'm going to consult the workshop manual as it helpfully illustrates various types of tyre wear and possible causes, but I hate having anything to do with steering geometry and wheel alignment.

I am pleased to say it ran beautifully all the time but I have noticed some horrible tyre wear on the nearside front, which is the one I had trouble with the ARB mounting. The outside edge is feathered and wearing rapidly, I think this is a recent development as I'd been monitoring tyre wear since I fitted new ones and secured the ARB. Not looking forward to sorting this out.
Could we see a picture of the wear patten please?

Isn't that what the Queen said when they wanted to get rid of Diana?

Apart from securing the ARB bracket which shouldn't have an effect on wheel alignment, the only other work I did was dismantle, clean and pack the wheel bearings. I jacked this side up today and there does appear to be a little play. I'll check the castellated nut and tighten it up. I remember now this side didn't line up as easily with the hole for the split pin so I backed it off erring on the slack side.

Could be that then, a slack bearing will allow the bottom of the wheel to push in when turning away from it. That'd account for the wear.

I was thinking of a similar thing due to trunion bushes when I posted earlier.

Wobby wheel bearing needs sorted first.
If you struggling to get the hole/nut lined up you could put a washer directly under the nut to shim.
