Re: Squire's voitures
The colours that spring to mind are Ford Royal blue circa 1977 or possibly BMC Island blue.

Good work
How about Rover Midnight Blue
Or Austin Nautilus blue
I think It needs to be a dark blue of some kind
But you are right ...Important Job

A whole different era. Pat Moss and Ann Wisdom, alas now both departed to the Parc Ferme in the sky.

Re: Squire's voitures
I have the "Secrets" book which of course came out much later but sometimes it is good to read what was actually written nearer the time....Must look out for a copy.

Yeah, that 1-2 gap looks interesting*.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 8:26 pm I'm in agreement with Ben and the Reverend here although it was 2&3 that caught my eye, give it all a really good clean up, try wrapping the wet and dry round a piece of glass or a mirror to give a nice large flat surface, don't spend too long in any one spot - like between 1&2 as it looks like that had had quite a clean up already.

He even quotes the colour as Ambassador Blue....!
Visible rust, flat paint, scratched chrome, no carpets, shagged doorcards.
Aye, right...
The difference in appearance of the gap twixt 1 and 2 could just be due to vigorous cleaning removing the witness marks of the gasket.

A shame about that one, it's been doing the rounds for some time now. I think £500-£1000 is more like it. Also not a Series I, more like a III with the disc brakes.

Re: Squire's voitures
Things to do when home after a night shift: paint an engine.
Looks much better for it, still not happy about the colour match but fuck it, this is all I can do with the paints I have. Will give it a second coat with the remainder and do the bits I inevitably missed. Top tip: use a good brush, not cheapo like me where you have to keep pulling bristles out of the paint.

Looks great. The exact shade won't matter when it's all bolted back together.
