Re: Sub Par Cars
Super exciting* update.
I just spent about the price of the average pint on a couple of plastic clips to hold on the passenger airbag cover. That was another item I was informed of before buying, that it's a wee bit loose.
I lifted it off and had a look earlier, then went on ebay and through my extensive research (looking at a shit-ton of listings for Alfa 147 passenger air bag cover clips) I found it's currently got completely the wrong style of clips 'holding' it in. No wonder it's loose, then.
Do I use some of my tax refund to order the diagnostic leads, then?

Re: Sub Par Cars
Plastic clips did nothing. In fact, one broke and one fell down inside the dash.
One of the mounting lugs on the dashboard itself is slightly borked, so the passenger airbag cover can just sit slightly squint forever more.
The seller said he'd have a look at fixing the passenger airbag cover, and evidently didn't do squat, or realised what was up and kept quiet.
He also never mentioned the issue with the windows until I was 400+ miles from home, collecting the thing.
On the one hand, £800 for an MOT'd, mostly alright 147 Twin Spark Lusso is good going.
On the other hand, I'm still a bit pissed off for being deceived over niggly issues with the car. The windows won't be a cheap fix, as I'll need to fork out £30 for the leads then 50EUR for the MultiECUScan licence, and there's no guarantee that'll sort it!
This is probably the last time I buy something from the beige for more than scrap value and far enough away to make it difficult to say no and go home. There seem to be more and more devious twats selling on there.

Re: Sub Par Alfa
I am still around.
I went exploring yesterday. I'll have proper broadband in the flat in the next couple of days.
Taken somewhere between Crianlarich and Lochearnhead.
