Yes, junk. Unless you're really lucky, you've missed the boat. Hire one for a weekend instead, get bored with the incessant noise, the terrible ride etc and move on.

In your position I'd put £3000 into the Triumph and get it done and painted. Have it on the road all done this summer.

I did think that but I'd rather just spend more and get a better Mini. Don't hate Metros but I'd only get a really cheap one.

I'd get this over a similar priced Metro anyday.

I wouldn’t mind a pre Rover 100 Metro. They aren’t that expensive.

I went out with a girl who traded a lovely mini city in for a new 100. It was a cheap, rattly and all round vile piece of tat imo.

The car that is, although I never forgave her for getting rid of the mini. I drove the little thing all round Ireland.

Smart Roadsters are great little cars.
That’s my old one.

I wanted a roadster but ended up with the coupe. If I ever get another it’ll be the notch.

Had paddles on mine but actually preferred the tactile feel on the gear shifter. Air con on mine actually worked after a regas. But the compressor died internally a few hundred miles later. Pipe hadn't broken!

I had a close friendship with the service manager at smart during my ownership. He looked after me though, he was a fan of the roadster and always managed to swing me some discount when I needed something doing.

The air con was the most expensive thing I had to fix on it actually. The only other thing it needed over the couple of years I had it was the crank sensor.

I really loved that little car.
