It looks like the engine was only in production for a few years and pretty limited production at that. God knows what the spares availability is.

I believe that spares and general back-up for TVRs, in general, is pretty good... though pricy. I think that engine is really rather special and while they can be a bit 'fragile' are very powerful. I'd buy it then panic, but then that's my way.

From the little I have read about them the engines are a bit special and not the good old Rover lump bored out which kind of puts me off it. These TVR guy's told her not to try starting it as it would probably catch fire. I assume they looked a bit better than I did if they found rotten fuel hoses, or they could just be trying it on as she honestly knows bugger all about it as she was never interested in it.

It's still a proper car, must be tempting for the right money. I was lucky enough to get a trip out in a 500 Griffith and it was quite an experience at full chat on local roads.

Typical build quality*. Every time he accelerated hard the glovebox fell open and I ended up holding it shut so as not to distract the driver. We had an interesting* moment in the Wyre Forest after cresting a rise, definite arse twitching, mine and the cars at circa 90+ mph with trees on both sides.

What a glorious noise!

Top Tip! Call a classic auction house and give them story as if you've inherited it and looking to sell. That'll give you an idea of price.

Someone from Perkins told me the engine was derived from their Iceberg dieselisation of the Rover V8.

I prefer the 1959 Ford behind the modern one trying to pretend to be the 1950 version. It is well done though.

Seems like a lot of work went into it, to then leave it on those dead giveaway wheels, too.
