Vintage Rolls or posh house not mine, CLS technically not mine as it was a dodgy lease- did 24,000 miles in 5 months.
Disco was one I should never have sold, but was rotten as a pear, that black e220 had done almost 300k on original everything even clutch.

Sorry got carried away with old pics - by July the CLS and Disco had gone. The Disco to be bobtailed and the Merc back to the company that had originally leased it to be returned at the end of the contract- is Swapalease still trading ? It was dodgy as fuck.

Re: 5 10 20 Years ago. Your car from this day in history.
*sigh*
Due to reasons mostly beyond my control, four more children and a divorce but not in that order, my daily drive at 5, 10 and 20 years was the same bloody vehicle.
Not one car I owned was interesting apart from the fleeting banger rally vehicles and the V8 Sierra that was here for a year.
The 924 set itself on fire a bit and due to a long term water leak smelled like a trawlermans waders after he washed up on a beach.
I sold it for a fiver but only paid £300 for it, I had to demolish and rebuild the garage to get rid of the smell.
So my primary Whip for the timeframe in question was a :-
2002 Ford Galaxy 2.3 Zetec manual in given up on life silver,
180,000 miles (ish, I forget),
Last actual service at 80,000 becuase Hartwells are knob ends and charged me £400 for a while you wait service which took four hours and they didnt hold any stock of brake pads, would I mind making another booking for a brake service ?
My response of go and get fucked was not well received
Last washed and waxed at 80,001 miles and driven for another 100,000 miles on plugs, oil, filters and brakes servicing, much of it at 40p/mile
Factory tinted windows, lots of tie down points, carpet contains mixed DNA.
Once managed an indicated 130 without catching fire so there is that.
Has churned out 70 Tons of CO2 if my maths is right (242g/km)
It has moved many things, carted children home from the maternity unit and a double mattress fits in the back.
None of these exist on auto-trader but its still here and allegedly ULEZ compliant so it may have value as a fixer upper.
It needs a gearbox, third gear is no more, I have one to swap in which is not a fearsome task as I did this before on axle stands when the garage had floorspace.
Just need to clean the carpets properly first.

It was fucked up to fuckery, yet appeared fine and drove perfect apart from the death wobble I never cured.

Re: 5 10 20 Years ago. Your car from this day in history.
5 years ago, Saab 9-5 Aero HOT with loads of upgrades (turbo, intercooler, ecu, exhaust, suspension, brakes, wheels and interior). A real nice thing to drive.
10 years ago VW T5. Bought it cheap as it was formerly an Eddie Stobart service van, although the body was immaculate. But then I did what most T5 owners did, ie spend loads on it unnecessarily (rear seats, windows all round, Range Rover wheels, etc., etc).
20 years ago VW T4. 1.9 n/a diesel, on lowered springs and cheap Gaz shocks, Audi A6 wheels with van tyres. And lots of hidden rust

Removed the inhibitor switch on the overdrive on the Rapier, 8 (yes eight) forward gears. Marvelous fun, as long as remembered to make sure it was out of overdrive for reversed.
