I've brought Civic home for the weekend . It was still revving up and down 3000 to 500 back to 3000 to 500 . I carefully disconnected this and that ...no difference . Removed airbox..Just above the throttle plate are 2 large bypass ports.. sticking my finger in one, brought down the idle to normal.. A solenoid controls the port , by rotating a shaft , i guess with a cross drilled hole in it .After unscrewing the solenoid , It was well stiff and by rotating it this way and that, it freed it off . Refitted the solenoid, and its all honky dory ! 750rpm constant .

Someone will say i was lucky not to get sucked into the engine while it was running .
Saying that, i wouldn' wanna put my cock near the orifice ..it's got a hellava suck , it has indeed !
