EDIT - Last time we saw the Stray Cats I took my 260E. I did see Chuck Berry in one of my Minis, though. (Think it was No.2)

My mates brothet, also a Ted had one of those (Is it an Oxford?) tatty and black and I went in that when the F TYpe wasn't working as well.

I shouldn't really do this, but here's a pic of my mate with his Victor

OK more Mini memories
At the risk of incriminating myself on a public forum, actually this is all made up. I think in the early 80s we went with friends to Texas Lone Star restaurant somewhere in London can’t remember exactly where and i was driving the Blaze Mini 1000. I have an idea that by this time it belonged to Mrs Concern and i had one of the 1275GTs (not that it matters). When we got there it was rammed and we went to the pub opposite to wait for the time they said we could get a table. I never drink any alcohol when driving so usually would have a Coke or something, but this time decided to leave the Mini parked and have a few* beers, getting a taxi home together. However we had a few^ drinks and went back to the restaurant to find we’d missed our slot! Back to the pub to wait for the next one. Got in at the right time and had an enjoyable meal even though the service was painfully slow, but it was stupidly busy so ok I suppose. Anyway after we finished, no one came to clear the table or give us the bill for an age and everyone kind of drifted off and eventually we found all of us were outside. We kind of sidled over to the Mini and sat in it (six of us) opened the roof and put the music on. The next thing I remember is we were (ok I was) driving away having not paid with all of us including me very drunk singing loudly (with the roof open) “we’re doing a runner, we’re doing a runner!”. Somehow we made it back without getting stopped and never heard anything about the restaurant bill.
However we never went to the Texas Lone Star again!
Was that a Mini memory worth relating? I’ve forgotten.

One of mine had Dunlop alloys but knackered rubber. I swapped them for a set of standard rims with Esso radials, Clubman trims and something else which I've forgotten - probably an LP or 20 Guards or summat.

Did i nick them chrome window bits from an elf or hornet ? Even then Coopers were a rare sight in scrapyards , where i got all my good bits . The pop out windows were original to the car . It was originally maroon before we painted it . I remember paying £40 for 5 Dunlops ,and it just so happened my mate had a boat trailer with 2 more on it , so i scrounged them for my trailer !
