With new plugs it fired straight up but it runs really rough and smoked the street out

I managed to turn it round though

Yes I know the panel gaps are way out. Not a priority right now!

Have you seen how they were when new?

Better than mine I imagine! They weren't great when I bought it. The best ones are where the front wings meet the front panel. I've made them myself.

I'm actually slightly ashamed to the point I nearly didn't update it but I attacked the small bit of rot by the tailgate. To do it properly would mean removing the headlining so I've just ground it out, treated it to Ku-rust and wobbed it. I'll do it properly one day but I just don't have time for now. It'll last a couple of years.

Painted the roof again too. Looks shit. Oh well.
Oh and it blue smokes very badly now, whenever it is started. It never used to do that. Great.

The Acclaim is coming back out to play after being laid up for five years. It was running quite lumpy and didn't really want to tickover so I took it to Eric Weaver of Ludlow. He understands old cars. I can't be bothered to look at it, carburettors are things I never seem to get on with.

His Transit is mint, it really is a lovely specimen. Owned since new but tipped on its side and reshelled when it was a couple of years old.

I've never heard of the superglue and bicarb trick before.
What does the bicarb do?
Chokes you on sodding fumes if you aren't careful, I tried mixing it first to make a putty to apply, it's not a clever idea unfortunately.
