I stuck the manifolds on. The carburetor is in dire need of a proper rebuild, or even retirement.
Objective is to spatchcock it together enough to run the cam in, then push it to the back end get on with the bodywork.

It does. The intent was for it to have a little pep.
Apparently the handling is... Mediocre at best, so adding horses just increases the impetus for the red lights to be facing the direction down the street you're using to go..!

I just want it to have a bit of get up and go (5.2 will provide that easily) so keeping that with fairly stock looks is what I'm aiming for.

Enough people have hotrodded these, world doesn't need any more of them.

I've only seen one other Fury painted in Mauve- the color is kinda growing on me. I probably won't paint the car myself, I lack suitable skill and premises by which to do that.
It appears to be an awkward color it lay on properly and mix, and I have a feeling the pigments wouldn't last in the sun. I guess it really does almost come down to what interior I get for the car- cream on black is where I'm leaning towards which would work with the Mauve. I'm trying to figure if it would be better to get a complete but rusted to hell parts car or just restore what's in the car now with new bits.

I need to start getting filler dust on everything soon, too.

My only qualm with the Mauve is that the trim and edges seem to get lost against it; a slightly darker color accentuates the edging strips and such much better.

Well, I did update the color on the title- it's now MAR/ which is "maroon", the DMV's catch-all for anything from pink to purple.
The body plate will forever tell us the car's white with a blue interior though.

Yes, that will irk some people but meh...My Minor body plate says Dove Grey but it hasn't been that since the Seventies. I returned that colour to the lower half (no, it isn't primer...) as a gesture to it's original hue. There was no trace of its original colour anywhere else - the previous owner was even more prepared to tell me the build plate was incorrect than accept it had ever been anything but all-black!

Eventually, I got a copy of the original logbook from DVLA when they were still prepared to do such things which backed it up.

Busy evening yesterday. Weather cleared for a little so I went do a bit of work on the car.

First task was to clear a path and wheel it outside.

That allowed me to put the engine at the back of the garage out of the way. I can still work on it there if needed.

I decided to unwrap the replacement lights. The ones on the decklid are mediocre, the outer ones are nice but the wrong part, they're the slim ones for a Fury 1 or 2. Sucks because they're freakishly expensive.

I started to pull the stainless trim off the gutters to allow access to the steel underneath, to check condition. The rear trim put up a massive fight and I'm pissed because I bent it trying to pull it off. Reason? The damn gutter is bent. Looks like someone clipped a gate post or sign or something way back in the past. I beat and tweaked it a little too straighten it up. It needs a little metal letting in where it got hit, too.

I then deleted the "trim delete" at the roof/body join. The filler was still soft, and that was done 6+ years ago. There's a couple blobs of weld covering a couple pinholes but nothing massive.

I then got the right hand chrome trim off the rear window and tried to dig all the sealant and grot out. I need to get the glass out, but I'm not sure if the seal is flexible enough any more. I may end up just cutting the seal and putting in a new one, save busting the glass.
Typical crunchy corners, which I knew about when I bought the car because I could see where the filler had been slapped in and left with a sharp edge rather than the gentle radius from the factory. Other side is similar.
