I was thinking about colors to paint it and a very pale, flat gray would work, too. Or a mid gray.

I'm no good at visualising colours really, but that one seems to work in pics.

Great choice seen one in the metal as one of the guys at the local meet has one,shame about the paint but it seems a common thing as my Van had a really thin top coat,in fact in my case I don't even think it was automotive paint

I had a bit of a lean-on-car, look-at-car moment last night, reviewing what needs doing.

The original lower swage line is present inside the boot, but not on the outside.

Why, people... Why?

I should've taken out stock in Bondo before this guy started work.

Maybe move it on, there must be better Mopars out there.....

Nah, that's a stamping that's available. They all go there, it's a bad mud trap.
Doesn't worry me in the slightest- it's a bodge that didn't need to be done, and probably had more effort put into making it look shitty than it would have taken to do right.

I bought this car, fully aware of what and what not I was getting, and getting myself into.

In looking about, one that's possibly just a bit better... 3x the price, they're commanding quite high figures right now.

...I want the work. This is something to keep me busy.

Well, I had taken a look at the marketplace before I bought it.

$1200-3500 : Scrapyard fodder, no floors, no sills, missing major parts
$3500-7500 : Dragged it out of a barn, siezed engine, no brakes etc
$7500-12000 : Drives, isn't too unreliable
$12000-30000 : High-point restoration/chancers

He wanted $4000, I paid just over half that.

My plan is to drop maybe $6000 into it in terms of parts, paint etc and have it in the "drives, isn't too unreliable" section.
