LR electrics don’t need actual electric things to go wrong. Just looking at the car in a funny way is enough to upset it.

I know. I used to have a 200TDi Disco & that only needed one wire for the engine to run, the feed to the stop solenoid. Therefore that wire caught light while I was driving it one day & the bonnet jammed so I couldn't put it out. It went out on it's own having burnt the loom down the side of the head so the temp gauge didn't work either, after about a week of poking a wire from the stop solenoid into the battery terminal every time I wanted to drive it I replaced the burnt wires.

Battery. Battery, battery. Check in cranking/charge rate obviously. Then check voltage drop with a decent battery tester.
Mine says 13.98v/14.05v load / no load.
Cranking 10.58v
Lowest voltage 9.2v (or similar).
That low voltage 'spike' is enough. So battery next.
if yours test ok - fine.
Check the fuel pressure reading (HP side) - the sensor on the rail* is prone to giving odd readings which throws limp up.
Check /change fuel filter if it hasn't been done.

I have decided to leave it alone until it bites me on the arse. At the moment I get the HDC disabled message at every start up, but it goes away immediately.
I also get an occasional amber warning on the handbrake and a special programs off message - all of these warnings fuck off if you leave them to it, and have done for some time.
I prefer not to poke the bear for now.
I bought a BBS Faultmate extreme a while back, but I haven't got around to finding a suitable laptop to use it with yet.

The other faults are cascade issues. Ignore them.

Thanks - reminds me of my X350 Jag (also a 2005) which reported a massive number of faults due to a failure of the earth points behind the front lights.
All the reported faults were spurious.

Hola, here we are again.
Intermittent 'F' transmission fault (the usual) has reappeared.
Suspect low lift pump pressure, new filter incoming (got the low fuel chug about it)
In fact, all new filters incoming except for autobox. Been done twice by me and the easy access plate fitted.

Transfer box oil is made of unobtanium it seems. £40 for two litres....
Other than that, not missed a beat. Duty as a towcar, 7 seater and a van.

Fuel filter was rusty when removed. Hmmm 'changed recently' or 'glitched' it seems.
Clag central. Seems to run ok now, no odd, slight idle hesitations before 'F' fault.
Transfer box oil sorted. Seems smoother somehow. Time will tell. In other news needs wheels balancing or a new front prop....

The ML that I bought to save spending money on a D3, developed a rumble/vibration from the front. A bit of internet searching convinced me it needed a front diff. Which of course are impossible to find because every ML, GL and R Class needs one. Then I bought new front tyres…
I hate how forums and horror stories always make you fear the worse.

ALWAYS got for the cheapest, preferably a service item, first in diagnostics.
