I understood there were 3 types of frame on Bs but again I'm quoting from memory.....

"Packaway" type, grey "folding type" both up to around 1970 changeover to black grille I think and then what was referred to as a "Michelotti" type which was a black frame.

Plus that other thing I was on about but not likely to be one of them - statistically. I've also just diverted a late afternoon car cleaning session to a rake through 1960s Motor Sports looking for this blasted "family" hood thing!

Good idea but it's only the bare frame. I suppose that I could use some of our rags to cover it and then let the boys have their clothes back before it gets too parky.

I could then follow another Yorkshireman:

George Cayley.

He also designed the first glider reliably reported to carry a human aloft. He correctly predicted that sustained flight would not occur until a lightweight engine was developed to provide adequate thrust and lift.

Sorry Merc I wasn't as clear as I should have been. Mine is a black folding one, I ignored the packaway type and as you say the other is a grey one for earlier model years.

Ah, well it should fit then! Unless it's off a TR5 or something.

I was trying to find something about the elephant hood I remember seeing advertised and came across that!

I vaguely recall there was a company that did a plus 2 conversion to the MGB not sure if it was the same people who did the same to TR7s (Grinnall?) More likely that it's just badly made/wrong one though.
Edited to add was typing this before Mercrocker posted the above

I thought that it might be a RV8 one but that has a taller screen so I think it'd need a shorter rather than longer frame.
The more I think about it someone has made one, or possibly more, the wrong size and got rid of them thru eBay.
Buy cheap, although not in this case, buy twice.

Bought so my mam and dad could come and live with us after my brother died.
