Watch Me! I’ve just seen a TV ad for the new Mustang Mach E and I’d rather watch paint dry (so would James Brown I reckon) as it’s an SUV size monstrosity EV. The Mustang name has appeared on some iconic cars as well as some complete shit ones, yes I’m looking at you Mustang 2! But the name on this hideous EV is a travesty, why couldn’t Ford have just given the thing a different name.

Just as bad as the Puma. What was an excellent sporty coupé is now yet another blobby upright mini pseudo SUV that basically is a Fiesta on stilts.

See also Cougar, Maverick, Galaxy (OK I know they spelt it differently) etc. At least they've left Zephyr and Zodiac alone (apart from that rather acceptable Mercury version of the compact Fairmont) but we have to face facts now - Mustang is a brand and as such the conglomerate will milk it mercilessly regardless of its dilution of the very thing they celebrate.

I don't imagine the people it's aimed at know much more than Mustang is cool and it gives them bragging rights at the golf club.
Just like BMW, Mercedes et.al. they're trading on their history and diluting it.

That’s probably on the money there, hence using the bragging rights ‘Mustang’ name instead of something more appropriate like ‘Rainbow coloured Unicorn’
