Re: Focus CC - possible impulse buy
I remember when Freebies first came out a few LR mags found they were better on wet grass/soggy mud situations than proper* LRs, the lighter weight meant they floated over & kept going rather than sunk in & stopped.

You've got to service the Haldex units every 40k miles. Not that Land Rover will tell you that.

Ours did pretty well then, at about 130k it locked up solid when reversing a couple of times then clicked a bit. It then cured itself. We only found out the first time it snowed about a year later, how it had cured itself…AutoshiteBoy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 9:56 pmYou've got to service the Haldex units every 40k miles. I did look into getting it fixed, there’s a bloke near Stourbridge that specialises in Free2/ Evoque ( probably Disco Sports now) Haldex repair, but never got round to it.

These cars should never have been allowed to get beyond the drawing board. Everyone driving past has been sick in their mouth. I have put in a complaint to the council to get it replaced with a skip full of heroin needles and old kitchen appliances
Or
Cheap and cheerful summer fun arrived this morning. Just had a long run through the lanes here. 39mpg. Even the a/c works. Missus still delighted.

I won't say that it looks nice but, in my opinion, it looks a lot better than some of the gopping mercs and BMs you see around nowadays.
Having the hood down on a nice day more than makes up for a styling shortfall.

They look fine (for a modern) from that angle, it's the rear end I don't like.
Still leave it parked with the roof down & it'll soon be full of heroin needles & old kitchen appliances, so you get the best* of both worlds.

Re : aircon in convertibles. I have been in two different convertibles today , when my kids dropped me off to collect my “ repaired” E Class. And again to pick me up from taking it back when it went back into limp mode.
Anyway, both times we needed the aircon on full as it was so hot in blazing sunshine
I really like the styling of the Focus CC , even from the back. In fact , I’m surprised you don’t see more modified ones around, considering it’s a Ford, and all.
Here’s one of the few online.

If it's cold - roof down and heater on.
It's never "so hot in the blazing sunshine" in the UK.

When I bought your pug from ruff geezer I asked if it had air con. He never answered and looked at me as if I was a mental.
Aircon is tremendous for demisting. Usually needed with a porous cabby. My c70 cab had it.
28 degrees in Bedlington today. The van aircon was very welcome on the way home.
