WOT NO PITS?

Hi All,

Really dissapointed with the constant miss-steps being taken on the other forum. The poor handling of the moderation, the unstable forum software and the war on anyone with an opinion does not sit very well with me. The old board feels like its dieing a slow death with all the content creators/greatest posters driven away. I still need interesting car content with added funny or sarcastic comments in my life! So I'm increasingly looking elswhere. Here, for example! I may even have to sign up to Pistonheads!

The recent AS ill concived redesign has been another headache to contend with, It feels like a sanitised reband and I don't connect with it. Many regular contributors posted up feedback suggesting simple changes to colours and fonts and they were just completely ignored.

As a result I've found myself checking in there much less often than i used to. I've not flounced from the other side. I'll try and keep posting on both boards and see what happens.

In the meantime I'm hoping that this board recaptures some of the old spark.

Joe, Coalnotdole.

Slowly getting there. I wanted to get loads done last weekend but ended getting a horrible cold (yes at this time of year!) so barely touched it.
Work tomorrow, but I hope to get some progress made this bank holiday.

Done much more to yours?

Dave's not done much to his Capri recently I don't think. I think the tax was up on it in March and there was a loose plan to carry on welding it as soon as the work situation allowed. He's just moved into a new bigger workshop so theres a chance it will get a spell in there soon. Last car news I had off him was Rebel related and he was messing about with alternative carbs to get more go out of his 598cc engine!

He's just bogged off for a french / italian roadtrip for 10 days today so Its not getting any attention this bank holiday!

I need to get the Essex engine for the GTE finished this weekend really. I need to refit the heads test for valve / piston clearance and make some tough choices about crank position sensors.

Hoping to have it in a position to get the engine and box fitted in the next few weeks...
