Something a bit different this evening. Didn't even need to select 4wd to get this up a really fucked section of track to enjoy the view. As for the special bit, it says a lot about the owner of the vehicle
It's only been on the road a few days after a hiatus. Needs a clutch, tow bar fitting and it'll be a cheap workhorse.

An SJ for the 20th century as the original SJ belonged in the 19th as a half scale Series LR.

It's not half bad tbh. Loads less bouncy and revvy than the SJ we had when I was in my teens and LOADS less wallowy than a Disco 1. Hard to compare to a leaf sprung tbh? It's also significantly less revvy than the Terios than my old man had and it's got a proper low box with a manual select lever.
The views ok too considering it's 15 mins from mine and we found a new route :-)

Coiled aren't they? like any suspension that doesn't have a horse in front of should be.

I'm working on that assumption, I haven't been asked to get underneath the thing and weld it, yet... It's still not as It's still not as good a ride off road as the old Ladas CLINT used to run because it's narrower, they are really surprisingly capable too.

Another test run in the E class yesterday evening and about 40 miles done with no derv slick so fingers crossed that's a win.

More teething problems. The TPS output has been lost somewhere and it's not getting to the box of tricks that is now over riding the auto box and working the flappy paddles. It upshifts great, especially when flooring it but downshifts may or may not be pretty savage.
The box of tricks is highly programmable, soft shift, hard shift, kickdown range, lockup etc etc can be adjusted.

Still no way of upping the fuel just yet sadly :|

Fingers crossed there might be some progress on the Merc? Tom has managed to source some software that can hopefully produce the checksum needed to get the altered maps exported onto the EEPROMS and onto a spare unlocked ECU.
If it works I'm quite looking forward to it. Literally pop the bonnet, unplug and plug in another ECU, start car and 200 +BHP should be released.

As my 405 has been taken out of hibernation we took that and the E class to a pub car meet last night. Not much of a turnout sadly as about 3 hours before it turned really dark, looking like heavy rain, probably put a lot off?
As it was, good pint, cheap burgers and an eclectic mix. Love a Noble and an apt number plate. Bonkers rear engine mini, space frame rear end 500bhp plus, Rav 4 with MR2 turbo conversion, silly Type R turbo etc.
The mini van won a prize for best turned out. Sure we'll be going again.

It was indeed, even the carpet in the back was quality, I'm sure it's the same stuff they put down in my local!

One of the scariest experiences of my life was in one of those things down a back lane as a passenger. It got significant air at one point and I thought I was about to die
