103 and counting..

Post by Pandamonium »

I've owned a lot of cars. 103 in 20 years at current count.
I have an excel spreadsheet with them all on...

Here is my current vehicle, a 1998 Ford Galaxy, 2.0 petrol with 160k on it.

Crikey. Well this has just joined my list of cars "that used to be everywhere but now you realise you don't really see them anymore".

(list in head, no spreadsheet)

I had one, in the same colour, as a company car just after they first came out.
It took us all over the UK for 3 years without a glitch. The only problem, which was never properly fixed, was the trim would regularly fall off.
I was sorry to see out go and we seriously considered buying it as our 'private' car but in the end my missus preferred her Astra for carting the kids around etc..

I'd say it is still remarkably van-like for an mpv, but I like the driving position and although not the fastest, still hustles along OK.

I drive a V6 auto one many years ago. It was slower than I thought it would be. Also I remember the horn button popping out at me. I remember nothing else about it

How different are the different versions of this? As in the VW and the other one I can't remember.
These are some words.

The Galaxy and Sharan/Alhambra used their own makers petrol IL4s but the other engines were VW.

Otherwise it was just trim and badge differences as far as I'm aware although I think VW may have built a 4wd version.

Who actually made them? I mean as when you pull trim off is if all VAG on the back or again are they specific to each model?

Still it looks Lincoln and it's a different colour for something like this. Isn't there someone else with a load of these?

They were made in a new factory in Portugal.

I don't know the different trim details as I got rid of mine in 1998.
