Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain
Lovely car, I do like me a Pontiac. A friend had a very nice '50 convertible in black with a red leather interior. Mind you it went quite well with the 400ci V8 taken from a wrecked '67 GTO. This was done in the 70's in Texas, the convertible was in a breaker's yard and I guess that the original running gear was knackered. Some guy bought it and the GTO's engine and box and put it in the '50, apparently he drag raced it for a while. Some years later it made its way to England. May have a photo of it somewhere.....

Here is the '50 ragtop in the company of a '55 Cadillac and a moody '59 Impala, no idea who owns that .

It is nice, he sold it a while ago. It's still on the original drum brakes mind so you need your wits about you with the morons on the road these days.

Fitted them and they're a fair bit brighter, as you might imagine. This might help prevent people from not seeing the lights when I brake.

That's not bad, would sit in the rear window fairly well. I'll have to dig about and see- either really visible like that looking like something out of a city diner, or the opposite, something really hidden away.paulplom wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 4:50 am Ideas?

You can get super bright tiny leds nowadays. They'd be very hard to see unless you knew they were there.
Anything's better than being rear ended, ooer.
