Went for a quick road test tonight to see how the car behaved with the rebuilt pump. It drives well.

Checked the pump, by now it would have barfed oil out of the breather hole there; not a drop now so I'm happy with that. One less drip on the driveway (that was a significant one).

Took a look at the tailpipe in the sunshine today. To be honest, I don't think I could get it set up better than that.
That's running well.

Instead of renovating another car how about making an ark first?

Has it washed the Alliance away or did that already go pending Fury arrival?

I tucked that round the back, but it's earmarked sold.

This weather is unprecedented. I've not seen it like that in the 3 years we've been at this house, and not in the last 10 we've been in this area. Our old house on the next street was inches from flooded.
It was a very complex collection of fronts that came together and dumped rain endlessly for a couple hours.
My garage was a half inch off flooding, in fact the back corner of the workshop did have some water come in but the window unit is taking care of that.
Looks like this weekend going to be wet, I'm headed up to Mississippi tomorrow to go look at the car (and unless it's grossly mis-advertised) and buy it, loading up with spares and parts, to go back Sunday with a borrowed truck and trailer.
Wish me luck on that. In other news the garage held up well to the rain. I boarded the doors up because it was 45mph gusts last night, but there was only a slight weep on one part of the workshop roof- a loose nail going into a soft piece of wood which I can fix with sealant, and 3 places in the main roof that were dripping. Thankfully the big leak over the electrical board is fixed.
Really I need to replace the whole roof with new panels.
