After 3 hours of fighting, the 4 Fillister head screws that hold the oil pump together finally yielded.

One is a bit too mashed up to reuse and one I had to drill out. If there's a sealing washer DO NOT USE SEALANT.

Still, it's all clean now, the pressure relief is de-burred and operating smoothly.

That's a few more items for the list.

Hallmark day again. First new things going on the gearbox. Oil rings for the fluid torus case.

Used the old seal as a mandrel to knock the new seal in.

Looking good. That makes me happy because this is where it was leaking very badly before.

This little arse took 5 minutes of violent persuasion to remove from its bore. You can see the dirt and metal chips stuck to it.

This is representative of the dirt I've been removing from all the hydraulics. That shuttle moves freely now.
New spring and the servo can go back together.

Rear servo and reverse mechanism to go.

Careful use of muscle, clamps and foul language saw the rear servo tension removed. That spring is as strong as it looks, by the way.

All pulled to pieces. There is a high spring count inside.

Also a lot of dirt and metal flakes. Probably enough that, if collected, could be pressed into a 1:32 scale model of the gearbox.

All piston rings aligned, slotted in and clamped down before being torqued up, ready to go.
I liked this piece. It was hard work but nothing was broken and it cost me nothing other than a bit of gasoline to clean it up.

So far it's just incredibly expensive.

Once it's back together and working it'll be rewarding.
