There's a good reason. The rear lenses are faded down to a whitish pink and the LED's bring them back to red; the lights are mounted way low compared to modern vehicles and are quite small. I rather like the shape of the back of the car, don't want anybody to modify it rudely.
Plus, it's hardly an irreversible thing. I just don't have the justifiable to get a new set of lenses right now. This'll make it pass inspection.
