In this respect I do like America.
Imagine the same situation in England.

There would be much steepling of fingers and breath drawn in through teeth with a "Well there ain't no demand for that no more, is there?" style comment.

America has it's faults but I got what I needed, in a small town at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon.

Today saw a couple free hours so I decided to finish off the screen heater. Painted the inside of the outer clamshell.

...and gave them a coat of gloss black.

Time has run out today, so that paint can all dry and I'll be able to reassemble the box, at least.

Woo heater.

Also bought an electrical antenna to fit up front and some cloth looming tape like Mercedes Benz use (because I like the look of cloth looming tape).

Well, good news. Bumped into my neighbor last night and asked him about the welding- he said he'd take care of it. I need to make up some brackets, clean up the tops of the horns where they've festered a little and get crackin'

Pays to talk nicely to your neighbors from time to time :)
