125-130bhp is ok without an intercooler. The next step up on remapping is 155bhp but intercooler highly recommended at that as well as a decat but I'm decatting this soon anyway. Easy enough job to do,just fit an inlet manifold and intercooler from an rhz 110 2.0 HDI. They never was fitted in the Berlingo/partner but there's room for an intercooler as the 1.6 HDI in later ones had one. I couldn't really replace it with something half decent with what it would sell for, circa a grand so it's staying and I'll be it's last owner. I'd like to see 300k on the clock.
May invest in an egt and boost gauge for it and manual boost control as these didn't have anything electronic on the 90bhp.

You could always do it properly? That was a snug fit but we got it in there 8-)
Biggest expense will be the welding. When that's done then I'll look into more mods.

Pity I'm not nearer, I'm cheap.

For a decent welder I will travel. I find it hard to trust folk with my vehicles and that's why I use just the one mechanic who is a good friend of mine for bits I can't do.

I used to do the odd but of welding when I was younger in an exhaust factory but it's a skill I really want to learn properly. Especially considering I own a Peugeot and a ford.

Just buy one and play and practice then! Mines getting on for 30 years old, cost 150 quid and does a good job or spend more and go for something like SiC's. The Rohr ones are a good compromise but I recently noticed they only go down to 50 amps. I'll have to try the Blacksmiths and see if it's any good on thin sheet.

I just run pure CO2 so cheap refills and no rental charges. Pugs aren't too bad, Fords definitely.

What needs doing?

Mainly outer sills on the pug. They are solid now but I'm unsure how long for. There's bubbling under the paint on the rear quarter above the back wheel too. 50p size blob on driver side, passenger side a bit bigger. As I said though it's still solid even when I apply a good amount of force. The ford is 21 years old and has never been welded nor does it need any. Which for a focus is bloody impressive.

Can some of you clever people find out the oil capacity of the auto gearbox on an '87 Renault 5 1.4 please?
Only seems to be about 2 litres in it.

Tried googling but can't get a definitive answer.

According to Autodata drain and refill is 2 litres a dry fill is 4.5 litres. I presume that the extra 2 1/2 litres you can't get out without removing the gearbox and draining everything.
