Happy with my under €40 "Smubi" 7 inch screen after a few hours use. Get in the car, switch off the vpn on my phone, and turn on the ignition. By the time my gate has opened, its up and running.
Not a great photo, but you get the idea:
I can now look at routing the two cables out of sight. The plate onto which it is placed, unbolts, so I will be able to route the cables from the aux and usb sockets through a hole I will drill in the plate. It will tidy it up really well.
On my recent ride around Andalucia, my TomTom Rider 550 was a complete pain in the arse. Setting up routes through thier app rarely synced with the 550, so I used Google Maps on my phone, which I attached to the 550 with elastic bands. It was great, except my gloves never made contact to the screen.
So I've splashed out €60 on a motorbike unit with Android Auto like the one in my car, but waterproof and only needs a power lead connecting, which is simple to route.
Fingers crossed I'll be happier with that than with my (10 times more expensive TomTom).

Too late now but I'm sure I've seen a liquid you can paint on gloves do they work on a touchscreen. No idea if it actually works though.

These nike gloves have something on that lets you work a phone. Not sure what it is though.

All my gloves work on my TomTom without issue, but not my phone. The cheap Chinese unit I have bought to use on the bike says it works with gloves.
If it doesn't work with mine, I am sure I'll be looking to buy some of that touch screen paint.

You've probably tried it but I've found using the side of my finger seems to work with nearly every glove, must be something to do with the seam I'd guess.

I've never owned a twat nav but on the occasions I have there's no way I'd ever have it above dash level. I spent ages trying to place it so it doen't block my vision.
I'm not saying its right but there are plenty of cars where the manafacturers place their screens high up on the dash
