Re: What did you do today?
Went out on the Enfield yesterday afternoon as I needed some paint thinners. I took the opportunity to ride a bit further to have a look at the other end of the mountain range I live on.
I usually ride early morning or late afternoon, but as the need for thinners was great, I went out early afternoon. Temperature was 38°c, and it was like someone pointing a hair dryer at me.
Achieved around 25 kms in total (its a small mountain) as just too hot. Ridden in temperatures of the mid 40's before, but that was when I was on a tour of the Balkans, not just nipping up the road. I won't repeat this again.
At least I found the Arab built aqueduct that supplied the town with water for 800 odd years up until 150 years ago.

For anything up to about a category 3, yes.LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 10:01 am Bloody hell Phil it must be bad as don't you normally just hunker down?
As Dodge says stay safe.
This one is forecast 140-odd mph wind, and the eye is looking to be just to the east of here, meaning we get the worst of the weather.
Wouldn't be surprised if the garage is wrecked when we get home, hoping the house stands up to it.

Re: What did you do today?
I get gusts of 70kph-90 up here on occassions, one of which blew my outside table off of the terrace, and smashed to pieces against a tree.
140 mph winds sound terrifying. Hope things aren't as bad as forecast.

Yeah, it's gonna be. That's why we're leaving.
