That is proper lovely. Nicely done.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 8:58 pm I did go to Swindon to look at a car, I was worried that it would be too nice for me, I think it probably is but I have bought it anyway. Should be down with me by the weekend. Photos added are not mine (I forgot to take any) but from when it didn't sell at auction last year.

As with all old cars there is a story why it's had lots of work done and then been left. I'm pretty sure I remember this being up for sale ten years or so ago in a much rougher state.
What did you do today?

- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Re: What did you do today?
Another 205 STDT arrived today.
Much more solid than the other one.
Plans are, pull the engine out of the xantia, weigh in the rest, put engine in 205.
Pull fuel pump off, tweak slightly*, make an adapter plate, fit TD04 turbo from a Subaru and have some fun with my lad doing it.
Been a while since I boosted an old Peugeot, there are better turbos available now but, with the short box on a 205, a TD04 is easy to do and, should give good power, if my old 306 with a longer box and TD04 fitted was anything to go by.

Lovely……second beautiful Alvis in two days! I thought we were all supposed to be tasteless oiks on here? I saw that and sent it to a friend who was on the lookout for something interesting. Presently considering looking at Singer 9 roadsters for him …..but one in Yorkshire and one in Bristol.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 8:58 pm I did go to Swindon to look at a car, I was worried that it would be too nice for me, I think it probably is but I have bought it anyway. Re: What did you do today?
I insured it straight away and gave taxed it today, now waiting for it to be delivered. I want to play with it. Currently trying to sort out undercover storage for it, I could stick it down with my brother but then I wouldn't use it. You can see I really thought this through, my sensible head is telling me I should have bought a Morris Minor Traveller. My stupid head is still telling me I did the right thing. I shall probably ruin it by using it and taking the dogs in it, but I promise not to intentionally drive it on two wheels or try to cross the channel with it. I nearly bought a Riley shooting brake years ago, I pulled out of the purchase because the seller had neglected to mention one side was rotten, to the point of being mostly missing

Taking the dogs out in it is exactly what it's for!Guest wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 8:52 pm I insured it straight away and gave taxed it today, now waiting for it to be delivered.
