What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Seems that means the battery was 'low voltage' but it restarted the car easily enough and continued to run the A/C etc so fuck knows. Bought shopping and when I restarted the car, all the messages had buggered off and stayed off so maybe it is just a low voltage thing. How many does the fucker need? 12 (alright 13.4 from the alternator) volts usually seems sufficient for most cars...
Use it more...

Not unusual for moderns to do that. With the engine idling it's unlikely to get enough amps off the alternator to run everything.

13.4v is too low from an alternator to charge a battery. You want to be around the 13.8v to 14.2v really.

It's also not resting volts that is the concern when starting. You only really get an idea of battery condition when put under load. I bet the volts are really dropping off when cranking and causing the warnings you are seeing.

Basically either put the car on a maintenance charger or use it more. CTEKs are on pretty good deals on Amazon atm (admittedly they were even better yesterday).

Decided to take the brave pills and see if the rear bumper would come off the Jag. The two bolts holding it on rust into the bumper brackets meaning you normally have to break them to remove the bumper, 70 quid each to replace. They came undone, woofuckinghoo! Bolts are now soaking in a glass of vinegar to derust.

They came undone? it's a miracle!

BTW if yours has mudflaps, don't lose the clips they are NLA.

The nearest you can get is the ones for the X350 & the 'leg' on the bottom of the L-shaped bit is too short to grip the flaps properly.

Annoyingly you can still get mudguard sets from Jag at £33 each end, so they must have a load of the clips with them.

He hasn't told me yet. Wants me to go and see it first. Needs sills welding apparently, although that A pillar looks crunchy on the photo.
