Sent this bloody bugger off for repair
And received this courtesy car (courtesy of my old man, that is)

Not today but 2 years and 1 day ago I went to the Haynes Breakfast Meet. Supposed to be going this Sunday to the pre-80s one but the weather is looking pants.
Anyhow here is the last one I went to, when they hadn't split it into pre and post 80s.

Core plugs out, and another fine mess.
Cleaned up and first new one in with just a smear of Wellseal.
Head back on, so just manifold and bits and bobs left.- mercrocker

I wouldn't go that far, it is a Vauxhall after all. For some reason these engines don't have a gasket on the exhaust manifold joint. I'm getting to old for such novelties, I felt more comfortable with an a A or B series. We'll see...

Well if it ain't there, it can't blow! I wouldn't say I'm that happy with A or B exhaust joints either, particularly the Farina ones - they never seem to stay sealed.

The silver Valiant next to the red Thunderbird is the same size as my Fury- they're deceptively large, you don't seem to realize it until you have to walk from the front to the back of the car...
