Re: What did you do today?
Van collected today to go to engine fitters. Recovery was about £50 more than the fuel to take 2 cars to Kent in order to deliver it.....
Hope to have it back by the end of the month.
It doesn't have a coal fire, by the way!

Shame about the coal fire, that'd make it snug.

That transporter looks an ideal contender for Eddie's cbw thread

Re: What did you do today?
Not my choice and I wasn't that happy to see what he turned up with to be honest. He works with the engine building company and does these "all the time". I've suggested he sticks to the Beetles and stuff. Anyway he turned up on time, took great care loading it and has just called to say it is off the wagon and in the lock up yard they share. Goes in the workshop Monday morning.....
I shall be driving it back, to be honest.

Gives you a chance to chat with them as well as seeing how well it starts etc. whilst you're on site.

Re: What did you do today?
Yes. I've bought this "turnkey, fitted" so there are a few discussions to be had about what else might need to be changed. I don't want a short-lived engine and he doesn't want a warranty claim because of a leaky rad or old heater hose.
Looking at my file on the van, it only did 67000 on its original engine, the recon that was fitted did 90,000 and to be honest would probably do another five or six. I'm hoping for a 100,000 with correct maintenance (sadly lacking in most T25s) but these are not known for robust-ness.

Another 200 miles done in the Vel satis today. Picked up some slot mags for the van. Bit marmite but I love them.
