Grannies do tend to squat like that when towing - even a trailer tent. Something to do with the IRS I presume.

It is true I don’t check the nose weight, but I suspect it, like the overall weight, is way over what is technically legal

Also 4 up and a load of stuff in the boot.

Didn’t seem to bother it at all though, towed happily at 60 barring a few hills and no grounding out

Good old reliable VAG cars. Just took this off a Seat Leon tdi. I have only ever replaced 2 failed DMF's and both VAG and both done this.

That is on about 137000. I think the other one I did was around the 150 mark. It is just the basic tdi in this Leon so it is getting a solid flywheel replacement.

It was knocking somewhat. At first it sounded like a stuck tappet or maybe an injector. As the car was due an mot it went in for that which it passed. The tester said injector as well but on the way back it got a lot louder. Removing the undertray revealed a metal ring which was the end of the spring sheared off. It is the second one I have had do it and realised what it was straight away. I have changed them before when they have been noisey but it is pretty unusual for them to burst out.

I've had two dmf clutches fail. One was a golf and the other a Santa Fe.

The golf was vibrating badly, particularly at idle. The Santa Fe's clutch gave up and when it was removed it was clear the dmf was completely fucked.
