Re: What did you do today?
The newly acquired Keeping up Appearances mobile is now at the back. More juggling will be required on Monday as I will need the Kia
Re: What did you do today?
Not today but yesterday evening;
Fitted the replacement rear suspension arms to the Octy.
They are made of biscuit tin thickness steel.
Anyway it is back on its wheels and booked in for alignment on Monday.

Nice Astral Blue Leyland. Spill the beans. Is it an Austin or a VP and how did you come by it.

VP and bought from HMC on AS.
If/when you come to sell Guest/AN please let me know. My Father-in-law wants one as it's his (realistically obtainable) dream car.

Re: What did you do today?
Just changed a wheel on the VW T2.
Everything went fine until I tried to refit the hubcap, no matter where I hit it or how hard it either flew off into the bushes or bounced off the floor. I was showing my eldest how to do it and he made a comment that it might be worthwhile checking the wheel we'd taken off.
Cue a very red face. The hubcaps are held on by clips which are riveted to the wheel and wheels are supplied without them. As it was the spare it had never had the clips fixed so I was literally just bashing the hubcap against the wheel.
He's probably texted his brother already about it so I'm expecting some smartarse emails to be winging towards me soon. As soon as the missus gets back from shopping he'll tell her as well so it's humiliation day today.

Re: What did you do today?
I bet my T25 is the same and I've never noticed! I only used the spare once - to hold one corner up while I took a punctured rear wheel to the tyre place. I'm certainly not going to go out and grunt the bloody thing out from it's kangaroo pouch to check, though....

I don't think it will be as mines an early bay with wide 5 wheels whereas yours will have narrows like the late bays.

Re: What did you do today?
You're right, mine has dimpled wheels. Owned it 14 years and I had to go and check! The Cowley has rivets though but Morris didn't skimp on the spare wheel.

Re: What did you do today?
Well I did do a bit of shopping yesterday in the Mx5, but as usual got distracted and came home with a load of crap and nothing to make a meal from.
It's quite a leisurely thing to drive, but not too slow to keep up with traffic. I did take it on the M4 between junctions and it felt ok. Apart from someone in a big VW thing tailgating me for a bit , (nothing in the two outer lanes, no idea why he didn't pass straight away, perhaps he was trying to see what time it was on my dashboard clock)
I have now juggled the cars back, so it's at the back again, the Mx5 in front and the Kia in front of that.
I called in the local garage for some petrol and they advised that they have a homemade hydrolastic pump if I ever need one and may have some Allegro parts.
I shall have to dig out my red trousers, a blazer and a tie before I drive it next, I felt quite under-dressed in a scabby fleece and jeans. (It could be worse the first time I drove it up to the house I was wearing rigger boots)
Photograph taken at motorway services, I was nearly home but I needed a pee.

Re: What did you do today?
You will get first refusal (,with my track record probably within six months) I pm'd HMC as soon as I saw he had it, as I didn't think he'd keep it long, it came up a bit sooner than I expected
