What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I’m no longer a Jag owner, everything I own is by The Hun.

Amusingly I got a Grand more than what I offered it for on The Beige. The Autotrader ad was a waste of space, every call was some foreign accented cunt trying to get personal details. Usually followed by a message from Autotrader warning me that I’d been contacted by a suspicious caller and to cease all contact!
Anyway, I changed the advert and increased the price by £1000, got one call, a woman that came from Norwich with her Dad, paid and drove off. The only issue is I was working so my youngest dealt with it and had £4,500 paid into her account…

As luck would have it our Counties club DVLA rep Andrew lives locally, and he was happy to sort the paperwork for registering the A30, so I visited him today with the photons he’d taken printed off ready for him to rubber stamp. Took the Hampshire for a trundle down there, it’s got a leaky water pump but it’s ok for short journeys with topping up.

He has quite a lot of cars. I got to have a spin in the very cool ‘49 A40 pickup, an Ozzie import with a 1622 engine under the bonnet. Went very well.
The Somerset is a recent acquisition, it’s very solid but the interior needs putting back together. The electric fuel pump had stopped working so it wouldn’t fire up while I was there, but it looked nice under the bonnet with a rebuilt and painted engine. The last owner died before he finished it.
I took him for a run around the block in the Hampshire and he was very impressed with it!

Also yours has lasted but an awful lot of Victorian Houses didn't. Those that lasted are the ones that effort were put into building them.
Yeah, I wouldn't like to see what would be left after 12 hours of 140 mph straight-line wind, flying debris and let alone 90-150 mph condensed circular winds with updraught.

That'll level a well built blockwork and cement building, let alone a wooden one.

The cold has fucked the battery on my vespa. Wouldn't start the other day either so used my noco and it fired up straight away.
Went to try this morning and it's flat again. Put it on charge and within half an hour it said it was full. Sitll only turned over once and died again.
Was planning on using it for work tomorrow as my van is in for the front spring.
