Not today really but yesterday.......
Fitted some splashbacks to the cooker and sink lids in the van. Brushed ally, the original finish was heatproof* laminate of some sort but after 34 years had become pretty horrible to look at. I saved a few quid getting some stock sized sheets instead of cutting to order but they aren't far out....

Also did what I could to sort out a nasty rip in the Cowley front bench. Basically the seats were retrimmed a few years back using old skins and covers from a scrap Oxford. There's a right old mix of leather and leathercloth.....
Anyway, the upper back of the front bench was very, very thin. I should really have had a new piece cut but it would have matched even less than what I had already. The inevitable happened last winter and it gave way after a rear seat passenger pulled against it getting out. I tried restuffing it but the leather was just crumbling. Eventually, I glued some backing cloth inside the rip, pushing it gently in each way with a shirt-collar stiffener. I found some leather filler online and built up the split before colouring the repair and feeding the whole seat. It still looks like a tart's caesarean but it is now as strong* as the rest of the seat.....
